Hi, I’m Makenzie Thomson.

Makenzie Thomson, MA, CMHC, LPC, CCATP

I’m a therapist with a particular interest in helping people understand and navigate anxiety. Every week, I work with people who appear capable and composed on the outside but are spending an enormous amount of energy managing what’s happening on the inside.

I know how consuming anxiety can become.

It can influence your decisions, relationships, routines, and even the things you avoid because they feel too uncomfortable or uncertain.

My goal isn’t to give you another “quick fix.” It’s to help you better understand what’s happening and develop skills you can continue using outside the therapy room.

Anxiety may be part of your experience, but it doesn’t have to make your decisions for you.

My Approach

Committment

CHANGE DOESN’T HAVE TO HAPPEN ALL AT ONCE.

Progress isn’t about doing everything perfectly.

Think of therapy as a process rather than a finish line. Small changes, practiced consistently, can become meaningful ones.

My goal is to give you greater understanding, practical tools, and the confidence to keep moving

Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all.

We’ll begin by understanding what you’re experiencing, how anxiety is affecting your life, and what you’d like to change. From there, we’ll create an approach based on your individual needs and goals.

Grace

You’re human.

There isn’t a “right” way to experience anxiety or a perfect way to work through it.

Some days will feel easier than others. What matters is continuing to show up for yourself with curiosity rather than judgment.
